2024 Harvest Report: Way More Than We Expected
As most of you know, we lost our entire crop last year (2023) due to an exceptionally late and cold May freeze. This spring we also sustained significant damage from a May freeze, and t seemed that we had a medium to light crop. The good news at the harvest end of this season... in many if not most varieties, the fruit size has more than compensated for the loss of total fruits and we are looking at a large crop. Except in a few varieties that were overcropped, the brix (sugar levels) are excellent as is the overall quality.
2024 has turned into a real stand out harvest and we are super excited to be making cider out of this incredible fruit. And a reminder that the lows of farming are darn low but the highs are pretty high.
“If you haven't discovered Northeast cider, you're in for a real treat,” [Autumn] says.

“Textural, aromatic, perfectly-poised acidity, stone fruit-iness. I love everything that they do. Every single one of their ciders is sublime. There’s no other way of saying it.”

About Eve's Cidery
Eve's Cidery is a small family farm producing naturally fermented ciders from our own organically-grown fruit and from wild-foraged apples and pears in the hills of Van Etten, located at the intersection of the Finger Lakes and the Northern Appalachian Plateau, traditional lands of the Cayuga Nation and Haudenosaunee Confederacy, in upstate New York.
