The Story of 2021 Cider Nouveau!

The official release date of Beaujolais Nouveau, the first red wine of the season, is mandated by the French government as the third Thursday in November-- November 18th this year-- and around the world folks race to grab a bottle and drink it up. In the spirit of celebrating the end of the harvest season with the first finished fermentation of the year, Nouveau! makes it to you one month later

This cider is a pomme version of a vin de primeur (wine released in the season it was picked)  It is young and fresh, the first cider of the 2021 harvest.  Made primarily from Ellis Bitter apples from our Albee Hill orchard in Van Etten, it was pressed on September 15th.  Just two months later we bottled it with a little over 2 grams per liter of residual sugar to capture a gentle spritz in the bottle. Unfined, unfiltered, 100% natural yeast fermentation.  Zuri drew the partying gnome for the label.

To appreciate the youthful charm of this cider, we recommend you drink this cider before the end of the year. Cheers!
